This is my dissertation blog. I will record all my thoughts about cuteness and how it is becoming a transcendent sign of global market culture. I am interested in how “cute” as a preferred characteristic of information design and identity, forecloses on and opens up possibilities in our lives and in the world, especially as it cuts across race, gender, class, and ability. I’m especially concerned with the spatial implications of cuteness and how we use this style of decorum in digital writing pedagogy and civic life.
